Art Journaling
I haven't done much painting following hand surgery. It will be awhile before I can tackle anything large, but I am doing a bit of art journaling — chronicling some of my teaching cruises aboard Crystal and Seabourn cruise lines. Ive been to some fantastic places, and its fun to relive those experiences through art journaling. Here are a couple of my pages capturing our stay in Copenhagen during last year's Russian cruise.
Exhibiting in the Village
This January I am displaying my art at both the Coronado Center and the Woodlands Auditorium in Hot Springs Village. If you are visiting either or both of these venues, please stop for the few moments and enjoy the art!
I’m sure February and March will be devoted to developing lessons for the two long cruises in which I’ll be teaching watercolor classes. Hope to get some painting in, too!
Exhibit at Garvan Gardens in August 2019
Just part of my current exhibit at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Visit it during August!
Montreal Wins at Exhibit
Old Montreal Cafe won the Juror’s Special Award at the Brush Strokes Annual Juried Exhibit! The exhibit is on display at the Woodlands Auditorium in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, through the month of April.
Return to Garvan Woodland Gardens
I’ll be exhibiting my art once again this August at Garden Woodand Gardens! Together with Caryl Joy Young and Shirley Anderson, aka The Monday Studio, we’ll present our best and brightest to the Gardens’ visitors. I hope you’ll plan a trip to Hot Springs and Garvan Woodland Gardens this August to see our exhibit!

New Work for the Botanical Gardens Exhibit
I have three more paintings to add to my art exhibit at Garvan Gardens. I hope you can see my art in person (the best way to see it!) during August at the Gardens.

Garvan Woodland Gardens August Exhibit
Getting ready to hang my newest exhibit at Garvan Woodland Gardens (550 Arkridge Rd., Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas 71913) with my arty friends, Caryl Joy Young and Shirley Anderson. Today we are in the planning stage — Iced Tea in hand. We’ll hang the exhibit in time for our August 1 opening. Hope you can make it to the Gardens during August. I have some new work to show you.
Two New Paintings
After several months recuperating from surgery, I am now back in my studio and painting again!! I’ve completed two very different paintings recently. One is a street scene from Montreal. The other is a floral in anticipation of my August exhibit at Garvan Woodlands Garden, a botanical garden in Hot Springs, Arkansas. I’ll be doing a few more florals this month and next, but I cannot ever be far away from my architectural paintings. Go to My Art is see the particulars of these two paintings.
Empty Bowls Event This Friday
This weekend The Arkansas Food Bank willl host Empty Bowls, their annual fund raising event to help feed the hungry in our region. It’s such a worthwhile organization, and one I have lent my support to for many years. This year my offering for the art auction is a watercolor painting entitled Pick Me! The gala is a sold out event at the Robinson Center in Little Rock. If you are attending the event, look for this springtime depiction of tulips from Hot Spring’s own Garvan Woodlands Gardens — and say hello!
December Exhibit
The Monday Studio artists, Caryl Joy Young, Shirley Anderson and I (center) have packed up and taken our art to the Arkansas Repertory Theatre, 601 Main Street, Little Rock, for our exhibition during the play run of “Gift of the Magi.” The “Santaland Diaries” will also be presented in The Rep Annex. I hope you’ll find time to come to The Rep during December to see one or both of these productions — and see our art.
